Creative Rules

In additon to the global rules, the following rules apply in the creative server:

Rule 4.1 Respect your neighbors

Everyone on the creative server has their own dreams: the one builds big, the other builds small but detailistic. Everyone is building in their own styles, and you should respect that. Plots that are created with the sole sake of disturbing their neighboring plot are not allowed. If you want to build a low effort plot, please keep your neighbors in mind and don’t build it next to a plot that has higher quality standards.
We do not consider your plot low effort if you are a less skilled builder! What we define as a low effort plot is plots that are created with the sole purpose of trolling, for example plots with sound machines everywhere or plots that create shadows that intentionally ruin other people’s creations.

Rule 4.2 Keep your creations appropriate

What we determine inappropriate is difficult to say. As you might know, The Pro SMP Network is known for its liberal moderation, since we are more laid back when it comes to moderating people’s creations. Plots that are built with the sole purpose of being inappropriate are unwanted, as their ruin other people’s experiences on the server. When your plot features inappropriate things such as pornography, those shouldn’t be visible without the passerby explicitely opting in to see it.
To clarify this rule, we have made a list of examples of what is and isn’t allowed on the creative server. These examples aren’t absolute; we moderate on a case to case basis. Please use your common sense and ask when you’re in doubt if your creation is allowed!

Allowed:

  • Inappropriate buildings with an educational character, such as concentration camps, colonies featuring slavery or public tribunals built in the context of visualizing history;
  • Pornography that isn’t visible from the outside, such as nightclubs or prostitution in buildings. You must warn for this at the entrance of the building this is featured in;
  • Anything political isn’t deemed inappropriate, you’re free to rebuild regions or places on your plot even if they are controversial.

Disallowed:

  • Large statues of genitals;
  • Creations that make fun of socially sensitive topics from the past (such as making fun of antisemitism or slavery);
  • Creations that are created with the sole purpose of provoking, such as large signs that feature hate towards a state or groups of people;
  • Creations that are intentionally and purposelly discriminating people when they aren’t in a historical and educational context.

Rule 4.3 Be responsible with the tools we provide

Our creative server has a wide range of tools to make your builders’ dreams posible. Unlike many other public creative servers, we make these tools available to everyone free of charge. We ask you to be responsible with these tools, any abusive or unresponsible activities are disallowed. This means that (in line with the global rules) it is not allowed to intentionally damage the server’s performance.
This likewise applies to using redstone. We do not have any limitations on the use of redstone, and we ask you to not abuse that. Intentionally creating lag machines or chunk bans will be immediately and heavily sanctioned!

Rule 4.4 Only claim plots that you’ll actually use

What makes our creative server unique is that we allow people to merge plots together to create one very large plot, which is only possible whenever the neighboring plot is unclaimed. You’re free to claim the plots you’d like to have, but please actually use your plot after you claimed it! Claimed plots that are left empty for a longer time can be released without notice.
Do not claim more plots than you actually need; claiming neighboring plots if you have future plans to merge them together is only allowed when there is a clear perspective that these plots are going to be built on in the near future.

Sanctions on the creative server

Don’t worry, we will never straight away delete your plot! We completely understand that mistakes can happen and you’ve put a lot of effort in creating your plot. That’s why whenever we get reports of any rule violating activities we will always first contact you in order to work a solution together. Deleting a plot is considered as a last resort of solving the issue and rarely happens in practise!
