Limited explosions
The rules for the classic server disallow griefing the landscape, regardless of the fact if it’s already claimed or not. But the PvP geeks in the community got upset of this rule, which is why we have implemented our own system in the classic server that ensures that explosions no longer have the ability to grief anything. What this means per world is described below.
Important: it’s still your own responsibility to ensure that you honour the no landscape griefing rule. The limited explosions feature is a tool that helps with this, but you are ultimately responsible!
To add on above, depending on what world you’re in not all explosive blocks are protected by this feature.
Overworld
In the overworld, both end crystals and respawn anchors are protected by this feature. This way, the explosions caused by these blocks will only damage mobs and players while leaving the terrain and any surrounding buildings unaffected. TNT is unaffected by this feature as it’s commonly used in farms and also is a loved tool for miners.
Nether
Only end crystals are protected by this feature in the nether. We do not want to break your favourite netherite mining tools like beds and TNT by this feature, which is why those are exempt in the nether.
The End
Due to the absense of ores or other minable items in the end, the only explosive unaffected by this feature is TNT.
